Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know

How does Guardare stay updated with changing regulations?

The Guardare team is constantly monitoring the latest guidance, control updates and best practices from the Infosec and GRC community. We also listen to our existing customers for product and compliance requirements that might exist to build out our future roadmap.

Can I buy through my trusted partner or MSP?

Yes, Guardare is channel-friendly and will facilitate collaboration with any established reseller or MSP you may want to work through.

What happens if I exceed my paid subscription seat allowance?

You can add seats beyond your subscription allotment and a Guardian will connect with you after the fact to update your seat count.

Does your product have native functionality for role-based access controls (RBAC)?

Yes there will be RBAC functionality built into the Guardare platform.

If our company has multiple subsidiaries but one cybersecurity team and wants to keep the data separate, do you offer multi-tenant environments?

The Guardare platform offers a centralized management console that can be easily configured for multiple related organizations, ensuring data privacy and security.

Since you are a SaaS platform, do you support multiple cloud regions?

Yes, our servers are geographically redundant across multiple regions.

How long do you keep historical data/logs for reference? What is your retention policy for "hot" storage?

Our data retention policy states we will retain data in the Guardare platform for 12 months. At any point upon request, data destruction will occur within 12 days of receipt of the destruction request. For additional information, a Guardian can provide more details.

Is the data being sent to Guardare encrypted in transit?

Yes, all data being shared with Guardare will be encrypted. For more information on the encryption process, a Guardian will connect you to our technical team.

Are there any on-prem components?

The Guardare platform is a SaaS-based cloud application. The GuardScan executable runs on the local network.

How is the AI calculating the risk of any given asset, user, application, or any other findings? What is the formula or algorithm?

The Guadare development team has built a custom algorithm that involves raw data from MITRE ATT&CK, Vulnerability Scores (CVSS), and impact of an event to assign a baseline risk score that can be measured over time at the organization level or granular down to the employee. To learn more about this algorithm, a Guardian (Guardare employee) can share more information upon request.

How is Guardare collecting data about our assets, users/identities/applications?

During the implementation process, the first two steps of setting up your Guardare platform will begin the process of collecting data for the people, devices and applications connecting to your network.

  • The first step is running a custom NMAP program called GuardScan that will collect information about the organization’s network and devices connected to that network.
  • Once GuardScan is running, you will be prompted to connect using your credentials to either Google or Microsoft in order to populate employee data and begin to create your initial G.U.A.R.D Map.
  • Then you will integrate various applications through pre-built APIs and grant permission for data from those applications to flow into your Guardare platform.
Is there a limit to how many applications I can integrate with Guardare?

There are no limits to the amount of applications you can integrate with Guardare. The Guardare platform is designed to work seamlessly with your existing security infrastructure, and we continually add new integrations to keep you ahead of the curve.

What is the process for getting started with your services?

The Guardare team is here to put your organization first. Implementation can be achieved in just a few steps and our team of Guardians will move as fast as your organization requires to get you access to the platform. With a few steps, your G.U.A.R.D. Map will be populated and you can start drilling down into risky areas or people.

Is your platform suitable for small businesses, large enterprises, or both?

The Guardare platform benefits small businesses and large enterprises alike. Both SMB and large enterprises are dealing with resource constraints, the talent gap and a desire to ensure the best security that can be achieved. The Guardare platform creates equity so any size organization can reduce their attack surface, identify and prioritize actions to remediate vulnerabilities and optimize their current tech stack.

What does the implementation process look like for Guardare?

The Guardare implementation process is a snap! Once you have been granted admin access to the console, your initial asset mapping should only require a few simple steps that can be completed within 10 minutes. From this point, you will get step-by-step instructions on how to complete the key integrations needed for information to start flowing into the Guardare console.

How does Guardare help with the allocation of cybersecurity budgets?

Guardare identifies vulnerabilities in your existing security programs and provides actionable steps for improvement. Our tools help you quantify the benefits of these changes, and you'll see significant time savings from streamlined implementation and maintenance.

How quickly will I see value from the Guardare platform?

The implementation of the Guardare platform is fast and simple. Once the first two steps in the implementation process are completed (Linking AD data and running the local scanning program), the G.U.A.R.D. Map populates with an inventory of all organizational assets and associated risk scores for those assets. From there you will be prompted to integrate with various security tools so more data can be applied to the risk algorithm. This will help to optimize the G.U.A.R.D. Map risk profiles so you can focus on the areas that need immediate attention.
